Cloud-based CSRD software built for complex data and sustainability/environmental reporting
Locus drives compliance with CSRD and other mandatory and voluntary frameworks
Many US companies with subsidiaries in the European Union will be subject to the provisions of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) — which mandates reporting on broad environmental, social and governance (ESG) data. The first phase of affected companies will issue their first mandatory CSRD report in 2025 based on 2024 data, but the list of affected multi-national companies grows each year. The second wave of affected US and international companies need to implement processes and systems to collect and manage the 2025 data they will accrue for their mandatory 2026 CSRD report.
Locus software supports CSRD compliance, including double materiality; data collection at the global-, subsidiary-, and value chain-level; tasks and workflow; and CSRD reporting frameworks.

Manage all the data you need for CSRD.
Locus software manages GHG emissions inventory, water quality, wastewater treatment and reuse, waste management, embodied carbon, refrigerants, renewable energy, soil testing, and recycling and circularity. Locus also manages social and governance data, such as employee satisfaction, equal pay, DE&I metrics, community engagement, and corporate governance practices via API connectors, plus facility and asset management.
Organize double materiality assessments.
Traditional ESG reporting revolves around materiality in terms of financial performance. The CSRD requires a double materiality assessment spanning the company’s financials AND its impact on society and environment, including carbon footprint, waste generation, emissions, labor practices, and broader societal impacts. Locus software flexes to this broader range of complex data points.
Simplify and automate data collection from Scope 1-3 sources.
While our clients’ environmental and compliance data is already validated in Locus CSRD software, Locus also ingests third-party data. This includes API connectors to SCADA systems, ERP, finance, BI, and HR systems, mobile device collections, IoT-enabled smart meters, laboratory imports, and ESG surveys submitted by customers, employees, or supply chain (Scope 3). CSRD also requires reporting on employee welfare, diversity and inclusion, labor practices, and community engagement, which can be supported via API.
Fulfill CSRD data verification requirements.
Locus CSRD software includes a robust QC engine that notifies users of incongruities in the data. With our data validation tools and visual calculation engine, clients can instantly review the provenance of any data point or calculation. Locus is also a leading verifier for the California Air Resources Board (CARB), embedding all best practices from that program—including full financial-grade audibility—into the software. This ensures that our clients benefit from the most stringent verification processes, which enhances transparency, accuracy, and compliance across sustainability reporting platforms.
Ensure enterprise-wide collaboration and accountability.
Locus CSRD software includes compliance calendars, task management with automatic reminders and notifications, and ESG auditing to verify engagement, communication and training, performance improvements, and adherence to policies. Custom workflows add accountability and clarity around multi-step or cross-functional tasks.
Locus CSRD software includes sophisticated data visualization and GIS mapping tools to bring vast volumes of complicated datapoints to life for deeper analysis by distributed teams. Track internal benchmarks over time to gauge performance trends.
Report with confidence for various mandatory and voluntary frameworks.
Locus clients organize reports by business unit, product line, facility type, geographic location, and more, and our templates accelerate CSRD and ESG reports. With over 1,100 data points identified within the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), 176 are mandatory regardless of materiality. That warrants a CSRD software platform like Locus that provides immediate value out of the box and can be easily configured to adapt to evolving requirements. Input data once and report to international, federal, state, and voluntary reporting programs according to each protocol.
